Sir,
I have seen a letter published in the Newbern Times over the signature of George O. Glavis Chaplain U.S.A., late Superintendent of the Freedmen’s Bureau at this place hearing date the 15th Inst. in which Chaplain Glavis states that he encloses you the Affidavit of Mr Lane, contradicting General’s Steadman & Fullerton in their report of the management of the Freedmen’s Bureau by the said Geo O. Glavis.
