8. What or who inspired you?
I was driven to succeed by necessity plus the fact that many white Americans thought of African Americans as being inferior human beings and I was determined to show them, to prove them wrong.

9. Do you think you do your job well?
I know, my bosses knew and our clients knew that I did my job well.

10. If you had a chance to change jobs, would you?
Probably not. Architecture is the only field that I have studied and become proficient in.

11. What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Probably a school teacher, teaching math and science.

12. Do you feel you are a good role model?
Yes.

13. Did you (or do you) have a sports hero?
Jackie Robinson., the first black baseball player admitted into a major league was my hero.

14. Did you ever run into a situation where you had to decide between what you wanted to do or what others wanted you to do?
Yes, and after thinking it out very carefully I usually went with what I wanted to do.

15. Do you feel comfortable being a black role model?
Yes, and I am happy and honored to be considered such.

16. Did you ever run into peer pressure in making good/bad choices?
If so please give examples.
I had friends who were more mature than I and who sometimes advised me. Their advice was free and I think turned out to be as good as that of a psychologist's which I could not afford. Talking our problems with more mature persons can be quite helpful.

It was more difficult than it is today except that we did not have the drug problem and the gang shootings that seem to be prevalent today.

18. Are your parents supportive of your career?
My parents are no longer alive; however they were very supportive and proud of my career.
