CHICAGO '93
An International Assembly on Planning & Design

Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs
Lois Weisberg, Commissioner
August 25, 1992

[[bold]]CHICAGO '93 . . . WHAT IS IT?![[/bold]]

Throughout 1993, Chicago will host over 100,000 visitors coming to the city to participate in congresses of architects, landscape architects, urban planners, theologians, and government officials, to name a few.

These people will convene to address contemporary issues much like they did in Chicago in 1893 at the World's Columbian Exposition. Although there is no physical building commemorating the centennial, there certainly is an intellectual fair taking place.

[[bold]]CHICAGO' 93: An International Assembly on Planning & Design[[/bold]] is an effort by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, to provide a network to coordinate programs, events and activities as they relate to the various conferences, exhibits, etc.

Monthly meetings are held at the Chicago Cultural Center inviting everyone to come and share information on their projects.
