McREYNOLDS, SKLAREK ELECTED AIA FELLOWS

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA---Charles B. McReynolds, president of Becket International, a subsidiary of Welton Becket Associates, architects and engineers, and Norma M. Sklarek, a project director in the firm's Los Angeles office, have been elected to the American Institute of Architects' College of Fellows.

McReynolds and Sklarek will be investured on June 2, during the AIA's annual convention, which will be held at the Netherland Hilton Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 1-4.

A registered architect in 16 states and a graduate of the University of Southern California (Bachelor of Architecture, cum laude), McReynolds has been with Welton Becket Associates for 27 years. He has held such positions as project director, executive assistant to the late Welton Becket and has directed both the Los Angeles and New York offices of the firm before being elevated to the presidency of Becket International.

Some of his outstanding accomplishments include master planning UCLA's 311-acre campus in Westwood, California; the six-square block Cullen Center office/hotel/retain complex in downtown Houston, Texas; and 186-acre John F. Kennedy Education, Civic and Cultural Center on Long Island, New York.

His international recognition comes from participating in design and administration of prestigious projects in more than 20 countries, including: the Manila, Nile and Baghdad Hilton Hotels; the Auckland, Southern Cross (Melbourne) and Kinshasa Intercontinental Hotels; Luxor, Giza, Alexandria
