James Burton 51 years old, wounded in Confederate service but able to do a good days work has wife and five children one 16 years old, rest small, owns forty acres of land, one horse, one cow seven head of sheep, six head of hogs. has crop of corn in. Will be able to get along without help when crop comes in. Has heard of no cases of starvation. Has had plenty of bread and milk.
