Before me personally appeared the undersigned the undersigned and being duly sworn deposes as follows

We the undersigned citizens of Memphis Tenn. and trustees of two Dwelling Houses belonging to the African Methodist Episcopal Church do depose and say that the said houses were situated on Goyosa Street between DeKalb and  Hernando Sts. and were burned down on the night of the 3rd of May 1866 by a mob which helped comprise the riot in the city of Memphis that evening the said property was valued at the sum of (2500) Twenty five hundred Dolls by the trustees of said houses
