Before me personally appeared the undersigned who being duly sworn deposes as follows:

My name is Francis Johnson. I live in Memphis on Gayoso Street.

On the night of the 3d of May 1866, seven men, three of them were Policemen, came to my house and forced an entrance. They asked if "Big Loue" had been there. They called for Supper which I gave them. They then called for the keys of the trunks and unlocked them taking a quantity of clothing, three hundred dollars in money and a silver watch.

They ravished a colored girl about fifteen years old. Every one of them had to do with her. One of the Policemen choked the girl and abused her very much, saying he had been sent to do this by Mayor Park. All the property destroyed of mine was valued at $400.00
