The Art Commission of the City of New York.

Chapter 37 of the New York City Charter provides for an art commission, the members of which shall be:

1.  The Mayor.
2.  The President of the Metropolitan Museum of Art
3.  The President of the New York Public Library
4.  The President of the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences
5.  1 Painter, 1 Sculptor, 1 Architect and 1 Landscape Architect.
6.  3 persons, none of whom shall be active members of any profession in the fine arts.

All of the above shall be residents of the city of New York.
The heads of each of the above enumerated institutions may appoint a trustee of the institution to serve in his place.

The last seven persons shall serve without compensation. They are to be appointed by the Mayor from a list to be submitted by the Fine Arts Federation of New York.

As to all matters which come before the art commission, the head of the agency in charge of the matter may act as a member of the art commission.

Appointments to the art commission shall be for a term of three years.
