Different elements that I used are weather maps, stock exchange columns, car advertisements or movie advertisements.

In the late 1950's I made some tape recordings which I actually called drawings. I used the alphabet, sometimes even a letter of the alphabet...repeatedly, and changed the timing in between the letters:
A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec.,
A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec.,
A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec.,
A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec.,
A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec., A 1 sec.,
ad infinitum.
A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec.,
A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec.,
A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec.,
A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec., A 1½ sec.,
ad infinitum.

All my monologues "work out" my sculpture.

Working with a flat metal fragment, I work with it in all its possibilities, I exhaust all possibilities. I pull it in all directions. I see it in its smallest size and often in enormous scale and often I return to my original cutout. Through these various steps I feel that I grow and become acquainted with my material.

The pursuit of a vision of the original idea, studying the degree in which technical limitations will add to or subtract from my original idea of the work. Endlessly readapting my drawings for the glassblower so that my final work will dominate the limitations of the techniques. WITH THE NEW MEDIA A NEW APPROACH TO THE TERM "ORIGINAL THOUGHT" IS ESTABLISHED. Very inspiring indeed!

Material and Technology

Automatically in all my works I try to reach that very degree that does incorporate vision, material, and technology. It does not always work out.
