Dear Kay Bearman,

Last year you were kind enough to forward several communications from me to Frank Stella when I was trying to fix up a volume on his work in the series "Penguin New Art". As I think you know, this volume is being written, to everyone's great satisfaction, by Robert Rosenblum. The other volumes so far arranged are:-

Richard Smith by Kynaston McShine
Anthony Caro by Michael Fried
Robyn Denny by David Thompson
Richard Hamilton by Lawrence Alloway
Patrick Caulfield by Christopher Finch
Claes Oldenburg by Ellen Johnson
David Hockney by Henry Geldzahler
Phillip Kind by Charles Harrison

I should like very much to include as soon as possible a volume on Robert Morris. I am enclosing a letter to him in which I propose this, and as I do not have his address I should be most grateful if you could forward it to him. I am so sorry to trouble you with these matters, but I am very hopeful that the series will make a significant contribution to the serious literature on American and British art of the present time.

yours sincerely,

Richard Morphet
