The tint to imitate Prussiate of Copper is 
[[‡image]] Made by mixing Ivory black (ground very fine) with Madder Lake & a little Mars Yellow, in such proportions that its tints made with white shall have a gray hue, slightly violaceous, resembling those made with Prussiate of Copper & White, which it [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]] may be feared may become more gray, losing the violacious hue; tho' in many Pictures which I have painted, I have never remarked any disadvantage; but if used in partial places among other tints, it may darken in drying.
