________Enclosed you will find information requested plus. I quote from Butler's Lives of the Saints.

"St. Antony, born 251, in upper Egypt. Inspired by God, St. Antony entered the desert and immersed himself in a ruined building and remained in absolute solitude. He was assaulted furiously by temptations of every sort. Devils and wild spirits appeared to him in various guises, monstrous shapes and forms, even in beautiful tempting forms at times. These persecutors frequently beating and wounding him severely - at one time he was abused so violently that he was abandoned and left for dead. However, he overcame all his pesecutors by confidence in God and the sign of the cross. (over)
