Bob Dear-

Was delighted to get your letter. oddly enough it arrived the day after K Halle brought Dan Rasmussen to dine! I didn't even know he was in Paris! He looks well but I haven't seen any of his things so don't know how he's painting - what do his pictures bring? I've too many.

As to selling Pippin's Victorian Interior and the den. Sorry. Wouldn't part with "the den" at any price and don't want to sell the other. I would, however, consider selling The Lady of Red Lake at a good price. What do his things bring now? You're a super-salesman so work on your client about the beauties of The Lady of The Laque - George hates it so! I of course love all Horaces things. I also have his only self portrait, a small flower picture and his last canvas. Also one of his rare drawings children dancing, plus an interior of his childhood cabin. Just in case there's a show of his stuff and you've forgotten what I have.

I'd like to leave the dough since I'm collecting young unknowns now - Really getting in on the ground floor. I bought a superb picture of a young Zouave soldier last week for 40,000 francs

[] on second thought I'd like very much to sell the lady of the lake but I want a handsome sum! []
