Sunday Afternoon

My dearest----

Having just talked with you a few hours ago, there is little to be written at this time. I have just come from church and came in to write Cowan a letter to accompany Grace Woodson's check. When he ships her machine I will get a check for $22.45. Not bad, eh? We can really use it this month (and any other month too). If each sale is going to mean $22.45, guess I'd better really get busy before the housewives begin their spring cleaning. T'would be nice to sell three or four each month.

Wish that I'd looked out the window before I hung up this morning. Then you could have had word with two of your daughters---Joyce & Norma. They had missed their bus for Dunbar and could not make church on time. They were standing on the porch like poor little waifs. When I asked if they had had breakfast, they sort of dropped their heads and chuckled. You know what that meant. Fortunately I'd bought a pound of sausage and some Ballard's biscuits yesterday. When Norma saw me putting them in the oven she yelled right out. It seems that she had been telling Joyce earlier that she would love some hot biscuits because she had not had any for a long time. We had scrambled eggs and coffee too (Norma had hot choclate). Then they did the dishes while I got ready for church. They complained about my hanging up before they had an opportunity to say hello to their "Mom".

This is one of those bad Sundays (rain). I miss you more than ever on Sundays. The place jus' aint de same widout ya aroun'!

Our luck may hold out until tomorrow and make us eligible for the hospitalization. I am sending the policies to you for further study (I've just re-read them). Also you may find it useful to have them when you enter Hopkins. The main stumbling block as I see it is in Article II, D. (Hospital Service policy). You'd best find out what plan Hopkins is a member of and what you can expect. You'd best take the policies to them so that they can look them over. Meanwhile I'll check on this end.

Guess I'll head for town and the P.O. Will sign off now with all my love and devotion. Missing you and wanting to be near you always is:
