Saturday Nite

My dearest darling -

Just a line or two ere I retire. Burrio has promised to deliver this for me and I want it ready when he comes early in the morning.

Am quite tired & sleepy. Was up at 8:30 this morn. Had to cook breakfast for my house guest - Jim Brooks. He and Morning Glory's husband officiated at last nite's game - we beat Bluefield 67-62. He had to remain, overnite for today's meeting of the high school athletic ass'n. Morning & "Duke" also came down after the game and sat around until about midnite before starting their 3-hour drive back home. She asked to be remembered to you.

After breakfast, I washed the dishes and then cleaned the house from front to rear. Mopped the kitchen, dining area & hall, changed the beds, ran the vacuum (over window sills & drapes too), swept front & rear porches & walks and then put out a laundry - 2 pairs of pajamas, underclothes, and socks. The day was sunny for the most part and the mercury climbed quite a bit. Between all of this, I sandwiched in a trip to Dunbar to get a prescription filled for "mom." She is down again and they had to call Harvey this morning. He had Henderson to come in this afternoon, to make a blood count and then ordered still more medicine.

Late in the afternoon I managed to sit down to watch the last part of the basketball games on t.v. while nibbling a snack.
