[[margin]] Love you! Love you! Love you! [[/margin]]

Richmond, Va.
Sunday Aug. 13th

My dearest Charlene,

How was the ride across the briny deep? I have been thinking about you and following you all the way to England.

I call mother each Sunday morning and of course you are the center of the confab.

She thought you might send a cablegram and I said it would be just like you to do that.

I am here keeping house for Altia - she went to Boston to see Ruppert at Harvard -

I manage to keep the boys straight and Mama and Dad also.

Dad is doing very well and wants to get out and assume his activities again. Mama says she dreams of you each night and wants me to give you her love.

Your picture is here in the living room and when there I see you each minute.

I'll try to have a letter for you at each hotel on the list - I have been busy cleaning, washing dishes, cooking, etc. helping Altia - Gave dad a bath last night.

Many good wishes for a pleasant trip and may the experiences always be an inspiration to you.

Keep sweet and well and I'll be anxiously awaiting some word from you

I'll be in Hagerstown after this week

Greatest love always, your daddy

[[left margin]] Altia will be home Monday or Tuesday
Kisses galore XXXXXXXXXX - May send you one extra letter now and then
Just had to yell at the boys to stop yelling - "Smile"
