and somebody else comes in, who's totally fascinating. you say to yourself, "Well, I'll be honest and write a letter that I'm fascinated." But you are unable, really, and you're not interested in how the other person feels.

You see, being in love is....I think is a terrible thing. I'll do anything when I'm in love. I'm lost. I don't want to fall in love again. Except with Bob. I'm fighting that every day, trying to keep from breaking up his marriage.

I think it's wonderful but I think that when you are in love it's not love. It can be love but it's some kind of marvelous hallucination. You see, the oriental people know the trick of being love so they arrange marriages between people who can temperamentally get along. And so they live together for years.
