Reginald was very handsome. I don't know. I'd say it's the quality of mind that's attracted me. I think so.

G: Reginald Pole was such an extremely handsome man. Did that make your relationship different with him than with other men?

B: No. No. It didn't come in.

G: Did you find yourself looking at him all the time, or did you get used to it?

B: No. Oh, no. I get used to it. We had a lot of wonderful companionship. And he never let me out of his sight. We were very close - reading books together, sharing friends. (RMJ:25)

G: It was very unusual in your life, in that the men who had been lovers, became friends.

B: Yes, that is very unusual. And I think that's the way it should be. But I don't know. It's not the usual thing, I admit.
