B: I don't agree with this idea of materialistic America. I don't think we are materialistic more than other nations. We have two sides. The inventive side, the art side, we don't hear about. We hear about the bomb side.
It's a very new world we are in. The satellites are making a terrific difference. And computers. They say you can't keep knowledge out of countries any more.

G: What strikes you as being the most momentous technological advance of the Twentieth Century?

B: The automobile. I think it added the most change to the world when you think of what's happened since the automobile. It's opened one door after another. We probably wouldn't have satellites without the automobile. There wouldn't have been as many scientists and such an easy exchange of thought. For the moment I'll say the automobile.
