Tuesday / Nov 13 / 1973

Dear Isabel/
Last Saturday — at a dinner party — we me [[met]] Mr. & Mrs. Levy — who are connected with Macy's — and other Metropolitan activities.

Mrs. Levy who was addressed as Penny is not just a Jane Austen buff — she's an Isabel Bishop enthusiast. Honestly, she's close to making the decision to give up something else to [[strikethrough]] buy [[/strikethrough]] buy a Bishop. Well, that sort of enthusiast is always a pleasant Member of the Party.

And this morning a letter from Charlie, I sent him a copy of "The Great Bridge", the story of conception & the building of the bridge. (The publisher should have used his lithograph as a jacket) Obviously, it interested him - and obviously, he told me what he tells you - We want to get together when something changes - or gets better. He writes so well (and Dorothy has, too) that I just cant understand why he would keep his pen over a hot fire so it comes frequent!  

It is so good of you to call about the 36 Dr. Martins! [[colors?]]  I bought some
