I was very glad to hear from you. Most every body is out of  town here in Paris.  but Tommy Slidell and Shorty Lazarre are still holding down chairs at the Dome. I join them nearly every evening for an apperitif. 

Viette tells me you have rheumatism. I am very sorry to hear it and hope you will be able to knock it out very soon. The trouble with rheumatism is that one is not permitted to drink wine. and that is the devil ever here. 

I am afraid I have to hang around Paris until Zeed and the rest of the family arrive which will be in May sometime. Ira sails for Spain 25th April. and so you
