Dear Mr. Fleischman:

In response to your letter representing the artists conception of Eyes Tested -

No 1. In 1944 - I was making a series of drawings in monochrome in Chinese ink.

No 2. The location painted [[strikethrough]] was [[/strikethrough]] is situated near my house - I saw the eyes tested signs - almost daily

No 3. The doorways of 3rd Ave were often used by drunks for resting places

No 4 . Although I am male and well married I like to think about young girls, and to paint them -

No 5. I am not senile. I am 55.

No 6. The 3rd Ave El. station and tracks eventuality to be torn down - are good to paint

No 7. I like to play with light & shadow effects

No. 8 all these together would be good picture materials

No 9. After your version I tried again once or twice - but I didn’t seem to do it well.

No 10. The “eyes” blew away in the hurricane

Yours Truly
Reginald Marsh
