WAR DEPARTMENT
Washington, D.C.

February 7, 1944

Mr. Reginald Marsh
1 Union Square
New York, New York

Dear Mr. Marsh:

As you perhaps know, there is to be an exhibition at the National Museum in Washington of paintings and drawings taken from some of the work performed by artists who were associated with the Army in its effort to preserve an artistic and historical record of the services performed by our soldiers. The exhibition opens on February 20 and will remain on view for a month.
You were one of those who made your services available to the Army for this record and work done by you has been selected for the exhibition.
On behalf of the War Department, I wish to extend to you an invitation to attend this exhibition on the opening day or if impracticable on that day, any other day during the course of the exhibition. At the same time, I express my deep appreciation of the services you have rendered and the distinguished contribution you have made to the artistic record of the war.
Sincerely yours,
Henry L. Stinson
Secretary of War.
