Dear Susan,

In 1984 you reviewed my show at Art Space in Los Angeles. We also both collected work from the Folk Artist, Morton Riddle.

I have continued to work as an assemblage artist and keeper of journals/diaries/sketchbooks. Presently the number of books has grown to 120. My original intent was for my children to have a record of events in our lives. Today they do not express a real need or desire to delve into the sketchbooks.

When visitors come to my studio and see my journals the questions comes up, Hummm "what are you going to do with all of these, you know when...?" Translation: when I die where do the books go. So I have started to think about that question and form an answer.

Pat House Director of the Muckenthaler Museum in Fullerton as said she has never seen a continues collection of sketchbooks/journals and they should be in a place of good stewardship.

I have included visual references of my journals, both the outside covers and some examples of the inside pages.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations as to their placement. I have a web site where you can view my assemblage work and pages from my journals. the site is JaniceLowry.com

It has been many years since we have met. I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying your career in art.

Warmly,

Ms Lowry
