need to have original painted pictures of African-Americans like they look: Don't get me wrong, there are problems with this because when they're not doing African-American things, (like regular activities that everyone else does), it puzzles the intolerant viewers. Nevertheless we are a vanishing few artists on the scene so save all those old paintings of yours they're going to be needed to show how Black people looked back in the 20th Century.

Yes the Sherry Washington gallery is going great guns, she has energized the Detroit public both Black and white. I'm doing well everywhere except in New York city, not alone though other artists are complaining about the dead art world here. The media keep talking about how great the 80's were and also how crooked they were at the same time. Hey I don't remember the 80's being so great, and the the 90's are just fine with me.

Have you run across Eugene Grigsby in Phoenix? He was [[struck through]] actlily [[end strike]] actively involved with groups, exhibitions, and excetra [[etcetera]] some time back. 
Do you miss teaching? What about the students?

I think I'll retire in a couple of year, we got a great new building at Queens college, also just hired Tyrone Mitchell to teach sculpture I don't like the administrative part but do enjoy the students, they keep you young. Which reminds me, quite a few of you guys are getting on up there in age, the only problem with that is you're dragging us young guys along with you, hey because of that I've become 62! The hope of course is as you get older you'll get wiser, enough said. Which also reminds me that Susan Majors had a showing of Bill's but I was on the road at the time and missed it.
