This is a proposal by the New Mexico African-American Artists Guild to do a collaborative exhibition of work created from Thier NMAAAG unique perspective of the land with it's unusual geological formation and arid (?) and special foliage it's mountains mesas, and arroyos gulleys. It's multiracial population and ethnic influences and thier creative impressions thru art adn craft, thier markets and dances, thier religious objects and practices; the intermingling of clothing styles of the natives with that of the tourist or newly arrived visitors and the old and immigrant population. The cult of the automobile and the varieties of animal cultivation, the beautiful skies in every phase and cloud formation from dusk til dawn. The Balloon phenomena, the low rider and hot rods, the turquoise and silver jewelry and craft work and the pottery of the native artists. The spirituality that many find exalting and uplifting in this enchanted atmosphere.
