Dear Reggie:

I am writing belatedly to thank you very much for your interview for the documentary on Hughie Lee-Smith. It was a terrific interview and it will add a lot to the program.

When you called I was in New York doing more interviews for the documentary. As I think Patricia told you, it will be months before the take is finished. I have a lot of money to raise, more shooting, and a lot of editing to do. Based on the interviews done so far, I'm optomistic that it will be a good documentary.

At the time we did the interview, I did not yet have the permission forms that I mentioned. I received them recently and I am enclosing one with a return envelope. Would you please fill it out and include the date, sign it, and return it to me?

It was a real pleasure interviewing you. Hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely,

M Lance

PS: When I was in NY, I met with Ellen Sragow and saw your "Harlem on My Mind" print on the wall. It's terrific.
