The destitution reported to me has been and is being relived by the several Sub Asst. Comrs. and agents to whom supplies were furnished for that purpose.

They had been directed to give, such information to the freedmen as shall enable, them to understand and appreciate their rights of duties under the "Reconstruction law."

The crops in this state are looking well and justify hopes of an abundant yields. I think there is no doubt but that a much greater amount of head stuffs will be produced this year than has been for any previous year.
