Learning that an effort is being made to bring to your notice certain improper actions of Henry W. Barry now in your service. I have to state that Mr Barry admired a ring I wore and desired to trade a diamond for it. At his request I gave it to him to take to Galts to learn its value, I asked him ($65-) sixty five dollars for it, several days elapsed and he did not return, I met him on the street one
