Respectfully, returned to Bvt. Lt. Col. A.P. Ketchum Actg. Asst. Adjt. General, inviting attention to the endorsement of the Asst. Commissioner, D O. of 10th inst, and suggesting that these papers be returned thro' the Qtr Master General W Genl, McFerran, with the request that the Qtr Mr Genl. authorize the Sale to this Bureau of such coffins as from time to time may be required for the burial of deceased Freedmen, and remarking that it is not deemed advisable to request the Qtr Mr. General to furnish Means of Transportation for this purpose, as heretofore.
