Dear Dan,
Thanks for your letter. Culdn't understand what you meant about galleys, and shuffled thru older letters, to find you had [[strikethrough]] n [[/strikethrough]] indeed asked for a copy. I [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] usually dont send galleys, because we dont ever [[strikethrough]] y [[/strikethrough]] have more than 48 hours before they have to go back to the typesetter. And, to be flatly flat: I think that if I understand what you have in mind, Ed did "overload the text with plates" but I also think that you will like the way it all looks in the end.

I rather suspected you felt the way you did about reviewing: Barbara gets ideas and then thinks about them.

Right you are about Gretchen's portrait: it is just that - the smallest one in the article, but placed beautifully.

Tell Sonja thanks: we're already used black on white on coers (Warhol and the A/E issue). Drawings never look very good, but, the drawing that Irving Blum has would have been beautiful. Too late. (I really flipped over that drawing, though.)

Dont let this form bug you: (message, reply, etc.). It only reflect the death of another convention, that of civilized correspondence.
