Phil, I have been asked to forward a request to you. I do so reluctantly particularly because its content has so little inherent meaning for me but its author means it importantly nevertheless Bert Carpenter, chairman of the art department in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is scheduled for an early fall "exhibit at Gabrielic Gallery". It will consist "of paintings and drawings of roses - the paintings generally large, the drawings small." "The approach is totally objective; the execution neutral". Evidently, Carl Goldstein, a Brown University art historian, has discussed the paintings with Jerrold Laues of your staff. Evidently, Jerrold Laues has presumed interest in the paintings but would require your approval (your assignment) to review them. Bert would prefer a Lauez review. That is all that he requests. (That's that.)
