Dear Sam,

Your exhibition has been on the boards for twelve days now. I hope that all goes well. I enjoyed being with you at the opening.

Sonya and I will try to make the trip to Hartford on the first weekend in February. Lucy Lippard, who writes the New York column (with Max Kosloff) for Artforum, and her husband, Robert Ryman, want to come with us. If our tires hold out we will be there on Saturday, February First.

Bob Rosenblum, on seeing my fluorescent tubes, said that I had "destroyed painting" for him. He was emphatic. He switched the overhead light on and off several times because he wanted to sense "the difference".
