Dear Mr. Driskell:

Thank you very much for your letter of February 29.

The works of Charles White that were shipped to Art Services were received in good order. I do not know about the works that were sent to the ACA Gallery in New York City as I have not heard from them.

I am sorry there has been so much difficulty with the crates and the shipping costs and charges. The crates should have arrived in good order and if they did not, they were insured, I presume, as well as the rest of the work, and the insurance companies might have paid for it. However, that is so much water over the bridge.

The works sent to you from Morgan State via air, at a cost of $420.00 seems very exorbitant as it was less money collect on this end here when we received the shipment. It was $386.00.

I do hope that the interest that the show did have paid for the headaches and the outlays of money which your school had for the show. We, too, at this end feel caught short as we had to lay out money as well. However, in the event that some day in the future we might cooperate again in some show, it would be most advisable for all of us to clearly understand the amounts and the payment of the amounts prior to the show being sent.

I wish to thank you so much for your cooperation in sending the show back as quickly as you were able to, as the collectors here have been on the phone constantly to me. We have delivered all the drawings back to them, and I hope that everyone is happy.

Very truly yours,
Benjamin Horowitz - Director
