and my "Dematerialization of Art" article, written in Oct-Nov, 1967, appeared in Art International in February 1968 (it came out in March), but as soon as we'd finished it we'd heard of a million other things that should have been in it. I sent in a postscript in December or so but it was too late. By the time it was published and got over here, it was already hopelessly incomplete.

UM: Lucy, the Rockman Show in Vancouver of things randomly chosen, randomly installed and randomly photographed led me to think of art in terms of perception. Very much like the mystic's claim "When the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it really is - infinite." (Blake) That means the perceptual act itself is seen as art. [[strikethrough]] Don't you think that [[/strikethrough]] Visual art may eventually function in an altogether different context?

LL: Yes, except that there's going to have to be monstrously immense educational process to get people to even begin to look at things, to say nothing of looking at things the way artists look at things.

UM: What do you think about the term Ahti-art?
