Dear Dorothy:

You will be pleased to know that when I picked up the photographs from Modernage all of the copy negatives produced prints of fine quality. I am taking the negatives to put in my safe deposit box until the exhibit progresses a bit more.

Needless to say, everyone to whom I have spoken about your great find is excited, particularly Jim Jordan who would like to include the three in situ photographs of 1940 in his catalogue raisonné. As I was labelling the copy prints, I noted the three numbers are 4429, 4432, and 4433. This leads me to assume that at least five photographs were taken and the search is on!

We have also alerted the city librarian of Ocala, Florida, where the photograph of the model with the visitors was released. If the exhibition toured as we assume it did, then perhaps the model is sitting at the last stop of the tour. Anyway, I shall hope to find it or news of it.

I would like to hang on to the originals of the photographs but of course I will return them at any point.

Thank you again for your warm and generous assistance. I will call you just as soon as I return from Siena where I will be visiting Maro (Gorky) and Matthew Spender to see and document whatever they have in the way of mural material and memorabilia.

With all best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving.

Cordially

Ruth
