January 17th,1973

Dear Emy Lou -
I am writing this to several artists.

In March, 1973, the Second International Exhibition - SATIRE FOR PEACE - will open in Moscow. The Organizational Comittee has asked me to inform artists in the United States about this. The Nature of the Exhibition is self-explanatory - material on the Cause of World Peace, Satire on Militarism, the Cold War, the Exposure of Aggressors, the Idealogical Diversion of Imperialists, Enemies of the World Movement for Peace, etc.

The Work can either by something done specifically for the press or an original, independent drawing.

The Technique can be an original drawing or a reproduction, a graphic print, photo-montage, color on paper, recent material executed in the last few years. Each artist can submit up to 5 works. size limit 38 inches

A number of Honorary Prizes and Medals will be awarded by an International Jury consisting of the leading satirists of the Soviet Union, Socialist countries and progressive artists of the capitalist countries.

On the back of each submission - the Name of the Artist - Title of Work - Country - Year Work wad Done - Technique - Address for Return of Work. Also - Date of Birth which is needed for the Catalogue. The Work will be returned at the expense of the Organizers of the Exhibition. The work does NOT have to be matted. It is cheaper to send it rolled up in a tube. (I suggest you use AIR MAIL and INSURE it. This is expensive but safer).

ALL WORK SHOULD BE MAILED BY [[strikethrough]]FEBRARU[[/strikethrough]]February 1ST, 1973.

The First Exhibition two years ago has been extremely successful receiving a great deal of press. It has toured museums and galleries in the Soviet Union, and I understand, it is now touring countries outside the Soviet Union.

I URGE YOU TO PARTICIPATE.
