I am so glad Edna is painting again. I am sure her still-lifes you mentioned are beautiful. I know she too has been thinking a great deal about that "unpass." It gives many serious people great concern: One glimpse at nature makes one think, and question again and again, "what is the purpose of art?" ..... When we meet again we will discuss this. Writing is so long and difficult.

I have painted a number of pictures since I returned, that you know how one feels__ never never good. But the nice months of the summer is ahead, and I hope I will accomplish something worthwhile.

I only wish Paul did not press me for ever more and new paintings. I can't go so fast! I must catch my breath! I saw Billy Zarach, and he told me that he enjoyed the visit with you and Edna. You can't imagine how he appreciated your kindness and hospitality (not more than I do) He is quite discouraged. Nothing happened in the way of sales with his exhibitions. But times have changed Art is at a standstill!

Dear Keith, if my visits mean anything to you and Edna it is, that, you inspire the best and truest in me. I love to be with you at home on the shore and on the trips...All that I feel and think I want to share with you, as generously as you contribute to my happiness - festivity - Floridian.
