Dear Sir,
dear Madam,

Finally I find the tine to thank you very much for having me allowed to visit you during my recent stay in New York.

It was indeed a great pleasure to me to have made your acquaintance and to have seen your wonderful and exceptional collection which deeply impressed me.

Even I am quite aware of your exhibition project, I still dare to submit you our official loan request for your marvellous painting "Villa Borghese" of 1959 by Willem de Kooning, hoping that if there occurs any chance, you might be able to meet with our demand. The enclosed official loan letter is giving you detailed informations about the whole de Kooning project.

As a small token I forward you by sperate mail a catalogue of our Dubuffet and Kanovitz exhibition (the later with an English translation), as well as one of Hans Hartung.

Thanking you once again for our meeting and with kind regards, I am,

Sincerely yours,

(Jorn Merkert)
Secretary of the Dept. of Visual Arts) Encl.
