$356.60
We have done our best by subsription and public meeting to raise what

we could to continue the School this year be we are poor and our white friends are not able to pay their taxes this year in our effort, we have raised only $152 00 lieving a balance of $204.60
We know with this amount in our hand, we will be able to continue the School. We say this because we have in the last 18 month, built and furnished a good substancial School house costing $1300.00 the Ground and building is clear of debt and vested in us and our Successior, for the benefit of the Freedmen and their children forever. Please to help us through this year and we feel assured that by the next we can go alone our people are Sober hard working Class of Citizens. Most of them work all day and then attend night School.
