Dear Sir
I called at the Freedmans Bureau a few days since for the purpose of obtaining Colored servants. I was informed, the the U.S. authorities were authorized to give transportation to Colored people going north for employment I would like to know whether this is so, and if I can get any now. I think I can get places for eight or ten male and female servants in and about this city. Some of my personal and political friends have selected me to attend to this matter. Will you please give me the information in this matter, setting forth the rules and regulations of the institution. I have business in Washington again in a few days and would like to get this information before I come down
Respectfully Yours
