I know that orders for interments were not issued in very many cases.

I know that Dr. Bell as cognizant of the sale of the bodies, because I have conversed with him on the subject and directed his attention to the great damage the Hospital would receive were these facts known to the colored people.  I remember that I once said to him, "If the Negroes hear of this they will burn the Hospital."
