Learning that efforts have been made to remove Drs. Bell, Octolony, and Forrester now on duty under authority of the Freedmans Bureau in this City.

We with pleasure bear evidence to their high standing as Union men, and as physicians. Their habits both as gentlemen and doctors are unexceptionable. We so not hesitate to say that any attack upon them, or intimation against them, in regard to their loyalty, behavior, or ability could only originate in malice, or a knowledge of the view and their characters. 

We [[crossed out]] only [[/crossed out]]desire only that you may know these gentlemen, and feel assured that if you are only properly informed in regard to them, they need have no fear of
