Dear Germain:

The three objects which you so kindly lent for our Objects for Purchase Consideration exhibition were delivered to Emery Air Freight yesterday; we have requested Ollendorf to unpack these and deliver them to you this week. I would like to express to you on behalf of my colleagues as well as myself our deep appreciation for your generous interest and participation in this exhibition. Since this is the last exhibition under my Directorship I am especially appreciative for the cooperation and support of so many of my dealer friends. Two objects from the exhibition have been acquired for the Museum's collections and a third is still under consideration.

Several of our colleagues expressed particular admiration for the drawings by Prud'hon and Vincent and they were both seriously considered for acquisition. As happens so frequently in a committee decision, we were just not able to achieve a meeting of the minds in reference to them.

I have appreciated my association with you over a now long period of years and look forward to continual visits with you in the future. I will be returning to Ann Arbor to teach in our summer session after a winter semester at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

With renewed appreciation to you and Mrs. Parker for your assistance,

Cordially,
Charles H. Sawyer
