THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MUSEUM OF ART ALUMNI MEMORIAL HALL ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN 48104 December 3, 1968 Mr. Germain Seligman 5 East 27th Street New York, New York 10022 Dear Mr. Seligman: Thank you for your letter of November 9, 1968, and your kind words. Charles Sawyer is away at the present time, and I have had no opportunity to mention the drawing by Soufflot to him, but I will do so as soon as he returns to Ann Arbor. I noticed it when you sent me your catalogue of drawings, and I thought it was delightful. At the present time, I am in the midst of several exhibitions, including one on The World of Voltaire, which I find quite fascinating. In part, it will include drawings connected both with life at the time of Voltaire -- a large order -- and as many drawings as I can find related to Voltaire's published works. I am thinking, for instance, of Gravelot or Moreau le jeune drawings, such as those in the Rosenwald collection. If you have any suggestions, knowing your interest in this field, please let me know, will you? The catalogue, which will be more ambitions than more of our catalogues, will go to press late in January. With cordial regards, Paul L. Grigaut Paul L. Grigaut Associate Director PLG:mp
