Dear Mr. Marino-Merlo:

Yesterday the prints by the Argentinian artist Mauricio Lasansky reached us, and they were immediately repacked for shipment to you. Had it not been for your inquiry I might not have become acquainted with Mr. Lasansky's work, which to me is most impressive, so I am particularly grateful to have this contact.

The six prints are:

As I was not familiar with Lasansky's work, I have had quite a talk with the Curator of Prints at the Museum of Modern Art regarding him, from whom I have learned - what you no doubt already know, namely:

Lasansky was born in Buenos Aires, 1914. He made quite a name for himself there and came to this country (if I understood correctly) on a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1944. The Fellowship was renewed in 1945, and at present Lasansky is associated with the State University of Iowa. His prints are in the collections of the National Gallery (Rosenwald col-
