Dear Sirs:

The University Art Museum, University of California at Berkeley, is currently organizing an exhibition, "Master Drawings from California Collections," tentatively scheduled for January 1968. We are planning to include about 100 works selected from museum and private collections in the state. The catalogue of the exhibition will be extensively illustrated and will include essays written by the Museum staff and the Art History faculty of the University.

I am in the process of surveying all the available material by contacting California museums, galleries, and private collectors whose collections are known to us. We are interested in knowing whether you might suggest names of important collectors who have acquired drawings through you that we might have somehow overlooked. Also if there are works of special significance that you know of in this state, we would appreciate your suggestions.

I would be grateful for a reply with whatever information you can give me.

Sincerely yours,

Tom L Freudenheim
