Dear Mr. Maclagan,
You will remember that I had the pleasure of calling on you at the South Kensington Museum in London, and that at the time I brought you a photograph of a very fine Italian quatro-canto Relief, about which I asked you your opinion.

We now have this piece at our New York Galleries at the above address, and feeling sure that it would interest you to see it, we take the liberty to invite you to call on us on one of your next trips to New York.

Since I had the pleasure of showing you the photograph, we have secured the opinions of several Museum Directors who have all greatly admired this wonderful piece, and it will also interest you to see these opinions.

Looking forward, therefore, to the pleasure of seeing you soon again, we beg you to believe us,

Yours very truly,

Eric Maclagan, Esq.,
c/o Fogg Art Museum,
Cambridge, Mass.
