Dear Jack:

With Bob having left the firm, as you know, and César departed for Europe, Germain and I are about to open a Lonely Hearts Club. Nevertheless, these lines to let you know that the galleries are open again for the season and that Germain and I would love to see you when you are in New York.

By the by, I would like to show you something really exceptional; confidentially speaking, three Superb Seurat drawings, the only ones known by this artist, executed in colored crayon, formerly in the Lillie P. Bliss Collection which we have been charged by The Museum of Modern Art to dispose of for their account. As you can well realize, it is only due to the fact that the tendencies of that institution are towards more modern paintings that they are exceptionally willing to dispose of these items.

Privately speaking, I have taken over César's apartment and fixed it up with my own things. It is quite cozy and I certainly would love to have you come and see it and have a drink or two with me.

In the meantime, I hope you had a very pleasant summer and that my lines find you in the best of health and spirits.

I trust I shall see you soon, and remain
With many good wishes and kindest personal regards,

Always sincerely,

(R. H. Waegen)
