Dear Mr. Seligman:

Thank you for your letter and kind words about the miniature. I shall be very glad to communicate them to Mrs. Ehrlich.

I want to acknowledge your remarks about the "Van Gogh" situation, and to assure you that we are aware of the particular position that you are in, ad that I feel sure that the University will be glad to oblige in any arrangement that needs to be made. However, my word is entirely unofficial and I am passing your letter on to John Coolidge. What may be taken as an answer to your inquiry will follow in a few days.

Sincerely yours,

Richard D. Buck
